Vladimir Chernyshev
Vladimir Chernyshev (b. 1992) is a young artist from Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. He investigates national traditions and forms of cultural memory, relationships between city and country, transformations of archeptical images in modern culture. Vladimir began to work as a street artist in 2010, but then gradually moved away from this directiom. He concentrated on long-term research projects and studio practice. Chernyshev mainly works with an endangered cultural landscape, creating drawings on deserted wooden houses, as well as large-scale site-specific installations which the artist leaves uncompleted, making them change under the influence of the environment. He has developed a unique system of signs and images flowing from graphics and editions to objects and paintings on found wooden boards.
