Anna Titova is a Russian artist born in the Eastern Siberia. However, she received her artistic education in Moscow, in one of the most prestigious and innovative institutes of Russia – the ICA. In 2010 Anna graduated from the Valand Academy of Fine Arts situated in the city of Gothenburg, Sweden. In the same year a Swiss art historian and critic Bice Curiger, who curated the main project of the 54th Venice Biennale, was impressed a lot by Anna's works while visiting 'The New Décor' exhibition in Garage Center for Contemporary Culture in Moscow. Bice immediately decided to include Titova's project in the Biennale – her works were like 'a breath of fresh air'. Anna became a single participant of the main project representing Russia that year.
